How do I process test transactions before I launch my SilkStart site?

Testing membership purchases before you launch your SilkStart site helps you to make sure that your members will provide all the information you need from them, and that it will be a smooth and easy process for them too. We strongly advise all new SilkStart users to purchase test memberships before launching your new site as part of the final site approval process.

Preparing to make test purchases

In order to make a test purchase in SilkStart, your Payment Settings must be using a test account.

If you use the Stripe payment gateway, log into your SilkStart admin panel and go to Settings > Payment Settings > Payment Gateway and replace your Live Secret Key with your Test Secret Key. If you don't know what this is, this article will help you find this number. Note: You must change back to your Live Secret Key before you launch your site.

If you use PayPal, Worldline (formerly Bambora), or Authorize.Net, your Account Manager must put your account into test mode by linking your SilkStart account to a test payment account. Contact your Account Manager for assistance with this.

Making test purchases

While your account has test payment credentials in place, you can preview the entire membership and job purchase processes without spending any real money. Simply run through the steps of purchasing or renewing a membership, or submitting a job to your job board.
