When a non-member purchases a ticket for the event, they are added to your database as a Contact (also known as an Inactive member).
This lets you keep an accurate record of user event history and transactions while giving you the option to follow-up with event attendees in the future.
When a user is added to your database as a result of event registration, they will not be sent an automatic notification to confirm the creation of their account. They will only receive any notifications related to their event registration, and any emails you decide to send them in the future.
Can Inactive attendees purchase a membership and become a paying member in the future?
Yes! The user may purchase a membership plan through your Join page at anytime to become an Active member. If they have never logged in before, they will be able to set their password at time of signup.
See How does an inactive member/contact become an active member?
Is a duplicate account created if they use an email address already in the system?
No! SilkStart will recognize that the email address is already attached to a user account, and will link the registration to that user's profile. Their attendance and transaction records will simply be added to their existing account.
