How do I use Olark on my SilkStart site?

What is Olark?

Olark helps you to connect with your members by chat. Integrate Olark with SilkStart to add chat windows to your SilkStart site, allowing visitors to reach out to you quickly and easily for immediate support and advice. Some organizations use Olark to connect with current members from members-only pages; others use this tool to assist users as they go through the sign-up process.

How to connect Olark with SilkStart

1. Sign up for an Olark account. All levels of plans work with SilkStart, though most come with a monthly fee.
2. Go to Settings > Installation, and copy the Site ID number from the bottom of the page.
3. Log in to your SilkStart account, and from the Admin panel go to Settings > 3rd Party Apps > Olark.
4. Enter your Olark Site ID, and click save. If your Site ID is valid, SilkStart will show that Olark is enabled and you'll be ready to begin chatting.

How to disable Olark

From the SilkStart Admin panel, go to Settings > 3rd Party Apps, and click on the word Enabled next to Olark. Chat windows will no longer appear anywhere on your SilkStart site.

You may need to contact Olark's support team if you wish to close your Olark account.
