How do I integrate SilkStart with my current website?

You can easily integrate your Squarespace, WordPress, or other current website with SilkStart to take advantage of member management tools such an Event Calendar and a Directory. Integrations are done by linking SilkStart pages in your current navigation bar, and vice versa, while your two sites remain separate entities. They can be designed to look similar, as to provide a seamless transition for your members. You will continue to host content on your current website in addition to your new SilkStart pages.

Site Look and Feel
Customize your SilkStart site to match the design of your current website. Create mirroring navigation bars, colours, and add your own custom SCSS. 

Navigation Bar Links

To direct members to your SilkStart pages, you can insert links in the navigation bar of your current website. This can be done in a number of ways, though two frequently-used links are provided below:

• Join Page: yourdomain.silkstart.com/join
• Member Login: yourdomain.silkstart.com/auth/login

After-Join Redirect URL
Once your members join or log in to your association, you can choose what page they will see next. This is set up in your admin panel. 

A suggested best practice is to redirect members to a SilkStart page, so that once they log in, they can utilize the tools and applications that you have set up. This approach minimizes the amount of back-and-forth between your external site (Squarespace, WordPress, etc) and your SilkStart site.

An option is to create your own member landing/welcome page as a redirect. See our User Guide to Custom Pages to get started. You may also choose to redirect users to your event calendar, job board, or other built-in application page.
