SilkStart stores up to 10 versions of your website, so that you can jump back to an earlier version at any time.
This feature helps you in two ways:
- If you accidentally make a mistake in changing your website, you can go back to an older version of the page and start again.
- If you want to make changes to your site privately, you can save a new version and publish it at a later date.
How do I save a new version of my page?
- Log in to your admin panel and navigate to Site > Custom Webpages
- Click the pencil icon next to the page you wish to edit
- Once you're in editing mode, make your changes to the page. Learn more about editing your pages here.
- After you've finished, click on Save Changes to store your changes WITHOUT making them public, or Save and Publish to store your changes AND make them public on your site.
How do I revert to an older version of my page?
- Log in to your admin panel and navigate to Site > Custom Webpages
- Click the pencil icon next to the page you wish to edit
- Once you're in editing mode, click on the orange Options button to show all editing options.
- Click on See Other Versions. This will pop up a list of versions of your page. The versions are date and time stamped, so you can see when they were created. SilkStart will save up to 10 versions of your page. After you have saved 10 versions, older versions will be removed and become unavailable to you.
- The Most Recent version is the version that you saved most recently.
- The Currently Live version is the version currently visible to the public on your website.
- All other Saved versions are available for you to revert to.
- Choose the version you want to use from your list. If you need to check a few versions to find the one you want, do not save your changes - this will keep your original time stamps on the versions.
- Once you've found the version you want to use, click the blue Publish button in the top right corner of your screen.
