How can I limit access to particular plan types?

Choose to limit access to particular plans that your organization offers or to provide these plans to certain users for different prices. For example, you may not want members of the public to access a specially discounted sponsor plan but still want this plan to be accessed by those that are eligible. Alternatively, you may want a sponsor to have access to a regular membership at a reduced price.

Limit user access to plan types using one of the following methods:

• Email domain restriction
• Hidden plans
• Admin generated invoices
• Offered plans

Email domain restriction (email extensions)

Email domain restrictions can be used when offering a Company/Organizational plan to users who have an email address ending with a particular domain (eg. @gov.org). When enabled, users are prompted to enter their email address to join the plan associated with their organization. They are then sent a unique link to confirm their email address and complete the join process. 

Advantages of email domain restriction:

• All users with that particular domain may register. As an admin, you do not have to assign plans to each user individually. 
• Ensure only eligible users have access to the plan as they must confirm their identity through their registered email. 

Hidden plans

When configuring a plan as 'hidden', it will not be visible to any regular user on the Join page, unless this user was previously registered with the hidden plan. Even though the plan is hidden, you may still assign it to users from the admin panel.  

Advantages of hidden plans:

• Manage and assign each plan to users individually.
• Members who have been registered with a hidden plan can renew this plan from the join page upon expiry.

Admin generated invoices

As an admin, you may manually generate membership invoices to assign a plan. When creating a manual invoice for an individual, you may customize the price of the membership.

Advantages of admin generated invoices:

• Customizable for each individual you are assigning a membership to.
• You do not need to create additional plans to provide different pricing points for certain members.

Offered plans

You can offer an existing plan to a specific member through the admin panel for any price that you choose.

Advantages of offered plans:

• The member will see the offer available to them when they go to renew.
• You do not need to create additional plans to provide different pricing points for certain members.
