How was a member able to sign up without filling in mandatory fields?

Basic fields

It is not possible for a user to create their own account without providing a first name, last name, and email address. It is possible for an admin to create a user account without that full information:

• When creating a new user from the admin panel, it is possible to create an account without an email address.
• When importing new users into your SilkStart database, it is possible to import a user without an email address.

Sign-up fields

When a member joins your association for the first time, they create a new user account and then purchase their membership. After they have purchased membership, they will proceed through the remaining steps set in your association's Enrolment Flow. 

Even if the member does not complete all of their account setup steps, they will still have a user account which shows any memberships they have purchased. If the member abandons the sign-up form before they have completed filling in their member details, their profile may show that they have not responded to mandatory fields.

Custom fields

The other way that a member can fail to answer mandatory questions applies only to custom fields.

A member's account will not show responses to custom fields if the custom fields were created after they last edited their profile.
