Segment Lists and Subscription Topics are used to communicate to users in your database. Use each of these so that you are sending the right communications to the right people!
Segment Lists allow you to define a group of contacts using criteria like membership plan, company, and join date. These groups are dynamic and update as your data changes based on your filters, so you can always be sure you're reaching out to the right people.
Once a Segment List is created, you can message these recipients through an Email Campaign. You can use your Segment Lists again and again, and combine them to send messages to multiple groups. You can also sync your Segment Lists with popular mailing tools like MailChimp if you prefer to send communications from there.

Subscription Topics let your members choose what types of emails they receive from your organization. Send messages to members who are specifically interested in a particular topic, to increase the open rate of your emails and lower the overall unsubscribe rate. Subscription Topics allow you to create topics that your members can a) subscribe to and/or b) be added to by you based on their interests or preferences.
Once created, Subscription Topics will appear to Admins in a member’s profile and during enrollment (when they join or renew membership). You can then communicate with the people who subscribe to these topics by selecting one or more Subscription Topics as recipient lists when composing an Email Campaign.
